The iGulu Home Brewing Bible is a six-book reference for home brewing and fermentation, written by practitioners and released to the public commons.
The Bible is a structured, citation-backed reference covering beer, wine, cider, sake, kombucha, kefir, koji, miso, vinegar, sparkling beverages, and the experimental edge of fermentation. Each book is authored by people who actually brew the things they're writing about.
It is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. It is free to read. It is free to remix. It cannot be locked behind a paywall, ever, by anyone — including iGulu.
Fermentation belongs to no one. Nine thousand years of brewers, monks, farmwives, and kitchen scientists built this knowledge in the open. The Bible returns it to the open.
Every claim is reviewable. Sources are cited. Disputes are tracked in Git. If a chapter is wrong, anyone can open a pull request — and we'll publish the fix with their name on it.
The Bible is versioned in Git, like software. Reviewed via pull requests. Edited by the community. It's designed to be a living reference that grows with the craft — not a snapshot of one author's knowledge.
Every chapter is signed by the brewer who knows it best. No anonymous corporate content. The Bible is what its contributors make it — and credit lives forever in the Git history.
The Bible was founded by Shu Zhang, founder of iGulu — the smart home brewing company. iGulu provides the infrastructure — domain, hosting, editing, print costs — and a Founding Steward to keep the project on track.

The Bible is published in editions. Edition I is being written now, with a target of fifty founding contributors. When Edition I is complete, the roster closes — those fifty names are permanent. Edition II will open with new contributor slots, and the cycle repeats.
Print editions follow each digital edition. The print book is sold at cost; the digital version is always free.
